The brilliantly designed vaulted ceilings and Mexican tile floors embrace the beautifully furnished living space. Step through French doors onto a colonnade that offers spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea, sailing marina and Buck Island. From there, slip into the large swimming pool, which encompasses a toddler’s pool as well.

The Islander was completely renovated in 2006. All new gourmet kitchen including new cupboards, granite counter tops through out the house and individually controlled air conditioning units in each bedroom. All new furniture and new fabrics – even all new doors, windows and paint! The living room boasts a large TV with DVD and VHS players and indoor/outdoor stereo sound system. There is wireless Internet access. Two grills – one gas and one charcoal –encourage outdoor cooking under Caribbean skies.

The Islander villa is located in the most prestigious area of the island and was designed by award winning architect Bill Adams who was featured on the cover of Architectural Digest. It is locate in the same private enclave as the well-known Buccaneer Hotel and its beautiful golf course.

Within walking distance from The Islander you will find two gorgeous beach coves. Shoys beach is longer and secluded – great for swimming. This palm tree-lined half-mile cove is one of the best on the island. Tamarind beach at the Tamarind Hotel offers a small private cove beach that is wonderful for young children and snorkeling. Walk to the marina and hop on The Terroro II catamaran for a day trip to Buck Island, a national underwater coral reef filled with hundreds of species of sea life including sea turtles and lobsters. Snorkel the reef and then picnic on one of the most pristine beaches in the world.

If scuba diving is your thing, there are numerous wrecks of many types – including an old airplane – to explore. The island boasts several excellent dive shops where beginners can get lessons and equipment and experienced divers can schedule beautiful and exciting scuba adventures. Excellent sports fishing is also available.


The villa is just a 10-minute drive from the quaint Danish seaport town of Christiansted. There are excellent shops, charming restaurants – some that compete with the mainland’s best – and an entertaining nightlife, all made more wonderful by the friendly people of St. Croix.
