and its friendly and kind “Cruzans”. We needed a haven to go to where we could break away from our busy lives and hectic careers. Each morning we walk on the gorgeous beach and sigh.

We wanted to give our children fond memories of snorkeling in turquoise waters with the sea turtles and hundreds of varieties of fish; running on white sand beaches and frolicking in the pool. They all want to live there! Unlike many Caribbean islands, St. Croix is a place that embraces children. There are many activities for them to enjoy. And yet, it is also a place for lovers and romantic interludes. We always return from the Island filled with peace and totally relaxed.

The Islander is our home. We rent it on a very limited basis because we don’t want it to be a “rental house.” It is full of the colors of the Island, and it is painstakingly maintained by a weekly gardener, housekeeper, and pool service. The villa is located in Shoys, considered the most elite section of the island. This is the area for those with discriminating taste and high standards.

Our architect designed The Islander to mesh with the natural environment, with three master bedroom suites so no one would have to “flip a coin” to see who would share a bathroom. It is ideally suited for 3 couples or people with children. You will have to see the large bedrooms and garden showers to believe them. They are spectacular, roomy, inviting and so very Crucian and the studio apartment is fabulous.

We like to think that we have thought of everything for our guests' comfort. When you arrive at the airport, our agent greets you and takes you to The Islander. We provide extensive suggestions on where to eat and what to do while enjoying St. Croix. Our guests feel like they are part of the island long before they arrive. When you leave, just close the door behind you. There is no need to clean anything. You can even leave the towels on the floor! What a luxury. (We personally always hated having to clean a rental house before we left-too much reality there).

You will fall in love with St. Croix. It is a laid back, charming island with very few tourists. We don’t have deep water in our harbor so we do not get the cruise ships over-running us like other islands. As a result we have a friendly environment with none of the problems associated with an overdeveloped tourist trade. Yet we have many wonderful restaurants and enough shopping to make it interesting.

We hope that you will make The Islander your vacation destination. We are sure you will come to understand and appreciate our love of the island and The Islander; our home in paradise.
Enjoy St. Croix!
